Players Wanted for THE ONE RING Game on Wednesday Nights
It is the 2946th year of the Third Age of Middle-earth. Smaug the Golden has been dead these five years past, his bejeweled corpse moldering at the bottom of the Long Lake. The Orcs and Wargs of the Misty Mountains cower in their dens, still smarting from the crushing defeat they received at the Battle of the Five Armies. And the Necromancer has been driven from Dol Guldur, lifting the shadow from Mirkwood Forest. Now is the time for new heroes to answer the call of duty: Wilderland has a chance to once again be a fit place for Free Peoples to dwell and prosper, but only if the work begun by Thorin Oakenshield and Company is continued!
What I'm proposing here is initially a one to two session run-through of Cubicle 7's new The One Ringroleplaying game with an option to switch over to a regular biweekly campaign if player interest is there. The initial scenario will be "The Marsh Bell," the adventure included in the Loremaster's Book from the One Ring boxed set. (If you've got the rules or the PDF, please don't read the scenario.) I will have pre-gen characters ready to go (one character from each of the six cultures described in The One Ring: Bardings of Dale, Beornings, Dwarves of Erebor, Elves of Mirkwood, Hobbits of the Shire, and Woodmen), but will be just as happy to accept player-made characters. The game assumes that every player has 1d12 and a handle of d6s, but I will have extra dice on hand as well.
If you're interested in playing or have questions about The One Ring, you can reach me (Rob Barrett) firstname.lastname@example.org. Thanks for reading through this pitch; I hope to see some of you on the 7th!
