Christopher Breymeyer is running a 4th edition group!
Anyone is welcome to join, but the main goal is to allow newer players the chance to see what role-playing is all about. If you have always wanted to try Dungeons and Dragons, come out and play with us. You don't have to worry about creating a character, we'll have plenty already made for you to choose from. If you know how to build characters or are an experienced role player, that's great! Build your own character and bring him/her with. Here's the specifics on what characters to bring:
- Character can be any race/class from the 4.0 PHB or PHB2
- Characters will start at 3rd level
- Give your character one bonus feat, this feat must be either a race or class specific feat.
Come on in and join our regular Monsterpocalypse players for an afternoon of Kaiju-themed destruction!
RPG campaign using Classic Deadlands:Hell on Earth rules. Running on alternating Sunday afternoons from noon to 4:00 PM. 6 player slots available.
Anyone interested may e-mail me at DMan1701X@Yahoo.com.
This group meets every Sunday night at Armored Gopher from 4:30 PM until...
An ongoing campaign of war and conquest.
The cost to participate in this league is $5.00 a month.
The Shadows of the Dark Wars campaign continues at Armored Gopher. Shadows lengthen from Coruscant to the Outer Rim, and the heroes are the only ones that might shine the light upon them. But can they?
This campaign is currently full.
Brief intro for the campaign:
The small village of Ravenswood has enjoyed a relatively peaceful existence since the end of the Race Wars. However, when the priest of Moradin dies suddenly, events are set in motion that threaten to tear all of the world of Kitara asunder.
Brief intro about me as a DM:
I try to run a fairly relaxed game. I certainly don't claim to be an expert on the rules and if I can't find an answer quickly I'll make a ruling that lasts for the rest of the session until I can look it up further. I am a big fan of character backgrounds as it gives me an idea as to how to tailor the campaign in a fashion that all the players will enjoy. I like combat, but also feel that while its an important part of the game, its not the only part of the game -- still, though, there will usually be a fight to be found.
Character Gen will be standard point buy as outlined in the PHB. Feel free to take a background so long as it is not setting specific (Eberron, FR) though if there is a certain benefit you are looking for from one of those backgrounds talk to me, I'm sure we can work something out (keeping in mind you only get one benefit, not all of the options).
Feel free to ask any questions here or to e-mail me at rscales@co.champaign.il.us If you e-mail me, be sure to put "D&D" or "Armored Gopher Game" or some such in the subject line as my work filter often sets aside unknown addresses.
Hope to see you all out there!
Cheers,
Rob

In the land of Ehs'kaia, near the city-state of Deepsteppe, a dormant evil has emerged. The cult of Tharzidun has risen from the ashes and is seeking to unleash their abyssal diety upon the land. Who can stop them?
This group meets every Sunday night at Armored Gopher from 4:30 PM until...
An ongoing campaign of war and conquest.
The cost to participate in this league is $5.00 a month.
A fast moving campaign heavy on action with (hopefully) a tight-woven story to keep things moving. Expect to start on the edge of "civilization" such as it is, and explore the frontier with occasional opportunities to return to the "big city" as your adventures progress. In theory, ten days travel covers the locally known cities and fortifications West to East, from Dooms Bay to Dvorkin's Reach--but these are dangerous times in dangerous lands, where savage creatures are eager to drive the "civilized" races back into the sea, while others wait on both sides to exploit all.
The game will continue every two weeks. Start and stop time will be flexible depending on group.
Generate ability scores as per standard array or point buy (PHB pgs. 17-18).
Select races from PHB and PHB2 (no Dragon Magazine, Eberron, Manual of the Planes, Monster Manual, etc...).
Select classes from PHB, PHB2, Arcane Powers, Divine Powers and Martial Powers (no Forgotten Realms).
Start with standard clothing and 100 GP to purchase equipment (PHB pg 210).

The year is 1986. Reagan is in the White House. The American Dream is in full swing. The Rich keep getting richer, and the money continues to flow like a never ending stream. But the roots of wealth always have deceptive means. Organized Crime has seeped into every aspect of society. Guns are on the streets, drugs are in the clubs, sex is everywhere. The 80’s have not only become the era of big hair, one hit wonders, and beautiful women, but has become the time of death, crime, and corruption. The Police Department tries its best to hold the city together. However, a crime wave is threatening to crash down onto the shores of Miami and sweep it clean of any morality and goodness. Even the purity of the police shield has been cracked and tarnished. The police commissioner has been indicted; the mayor has been investigated by the District Attorney; the DA’s family has been threatened and placed under police protection. The Mafia is moving in from the North and the Cubans have been funneled in from the South. The city is about to break in two. The time has come for a few good cops to rise up and take this city back for law and order. They will have few allies and countless enemies, but justice will be on their side, that and few well placed bullets
The system is Mutant Future, the new 'retro-clone' of Gamma World, straight out of the eighties. If you've played any edition of Gamma World, then you already know 90% or more of this game. I run this game every other week, Wednesday from 7pm to 10pm, but no committment is required by players. Interested players are welcome to attend as many or as few sessions as you like.
If you'd like to learn more about the campaign, please feel free to shoot me questions to jrients AT gmail DOT com.
An ongoing Dark Heresy campaign. Follow the camapaign journal in our Dark Heresy group.
Join us each week for RPGA-sanctioned play in the wilds of Faerun!

Hey all...
Armored Gopher Games is still working on getting FNM sanctioning, so, until we do, we're going to do events like this. Casual Magic drafts which will happen if we get 8+ people. Tonight's will be using three (3)packs of Zendikar for drafting.
Details
- The cost for this event will be $14.00.
- Prize support will be packs of Magic 2010, divided out based on the number of players there are.
- Players keep what they draft.
- The format will be multi-round Swiss-style. There will be no single-elimination drafts here at the Gopher. EVER.
Beyond that... leave a comment below to officially sign up.
peace... GopherDave

The Council of Thieves adventure path continues, using the Pathfinder RPG rules. Westcrown is the backdrop for this adventure, a shadow haunted city that was once the crown jewel human civilization, until the Age of Broken Prophesy. Shadows stalk the streets at night, Hellknights enforce cruel laws, and the Bastards of Erebus terrorize the population.

On Saturday, January 16rd, Armored Gopher Games will be hosting a Peasant Magic tournament. The Starting time is 1:00pm.
We had 14 players in December. Let's keep the momentum of fun magic in CU going!
Fun!
What is Peasant Magic???
- Peasant Magic is a fun format that anyone can build a deck for, at minimal cost.
- A Peasant Magic deck can have NO rare cards.
- A Peasant Magic deck can have only 5 uncommon cards.
- Every other card in the (60 card minimum) deck must be a common.
- Alpha through Zendikar - If the card has a white border, or a black border - and it has a standard Magic:The Gathering back, you can play it.
How do I know what is common or uncommon???
- If the card has ever been printed as a common, you can count it as a common.
- If the card has never been printed as a common, but has been printed as an uncommon, you can count it as an uncommon.
- Look at the Gatherer website (http:/gatherer.wizards.com) to see what rarity the card has been printed at.
What do I need to bring???
- A deck
- A way to keep track of life totals (pencil and paper, small rocks, really solid boogers)
- A decklist.
What's a decklist???
- A decklist is a piece of paper that has a listing of all the cards that you are playing in your deck. On this decklist, you need to have your name, and you need to indicate which of the cards in your deck are UNCOMMON. Remember - NO RARES, AND ONLY 5 UNCOMMON CARDS.
How much does it cost to enter???
A ongoing World of Darkness game. Play for this campaign is by invitation only.
