Dooms Bay (D&D4E) - (Earl L.)

GopherDave's picture

A fast moving campaign heavy on action with (hopefully) a tight-woven story to keep things moving.  Expect to start on the edge of "civilization" such as it is, and explore the frontier with occasional opportunities to return to the "big city" as your adventures progress.  In theory, ten days travel covers the locally known cities and fortifications West to East, from Dooms Bay to Dvorkin's Reach--but these are dangerous times in dangerous lands, where savage creatures are eager to drive the "civilized" races back into the sea, while others wait on both sides to exploit all.

The game will continue every two weeks.  Start and stop time will be flexible depending on group.

Generate ability scores as per standard array or point buy (PHB pgs. 17-18).

Select races from PHB and PHB2 (no Dragon Magazine, Eberron, Manual of the Planes, Monster Manual, etc...).

Select classes from PHB, PHB2, Arcane Powers, Divine Powers and Martial Powers (no Forgotten Realms).

Start with standard clothing and 100 GP to purchase equipment (PHB pg 210).

Hack Master Basic (Cookie M.)

GopherDave's picture

This is Cookie and I'm running a HackMaster Basic campaign at Armored Gopher Games.

HackMaster is a serious system with elements of parody. I lean towards combat and puzzles with role playing last on this list. So plan on merry mayhem! I will use published and self written events to wreak havoc on my players.

Best way to reach me is a camorris63@sbcglobal.net.

Hope to see you soon!

M:tG - Zendikar Booster Draft

GopherDave's picture

Armored Gopher Games will be holding a modified Swiss-style, unsanctioned booster draft using cards from the Zendikar Set! This event will only happen only if we get 8+ people to the event, but will be held to a limit of 16 people.

Single Pod

If there is only one pod worth of people, prizes will be awarded at the end of three rounds as follows...

  • 1st Place - 5 packs
  • 2nd Place - 3 packs
  • 3rd/4th Place - 2 packs each
Two Pods

Players will draft in even pods (or as even as possible), and then play games within their pod. At the end of three rounds, prizes (per pod) will be as follows...

  • 1st Place - 4 packs
  • 2nd Place - 2 packs
  • 3rd/4th Place - 1 packs each

Then, the first and second place winners of each pod will face off for an additional two rounds for additional prizes of...

  • 1st Overall  - 3 packs
  • 2nd Overall  - 2 packs
  • 3rd/4th Overall  - 1 pack each

The cost of this event will be $16 per person.

Yes, I know the format is a bit odd. Sue me. =)

Battleground: Fantasy Warfare Demo

GopherDave's picture

Battleground: Fantasy Warfare is a point-based miniatures game – but without the miniatures. Battleground uses cards rather than painted models to represent your forces. This means a much lower price as well as easier transportation and setup, but don’t be fooled – this is not a “light” war game or a CCG. Battleground is a serious, award-winning wargame that will challenge you at every step, from army design and deployment to tactical maneuvers and command decisions until battle’s end.

This is a demo session designed to guage and generate interest in this intriguing new game.

Demo Leader: Kevin Hall (aka CptBane on the 'Gopher boards)

All inquiries about this event should be sent in Kevin's direction.
