Dungeons & Dragons

Jeff's Game Table

I run a game every other week, Wednesday from 7pm to 10pm, but no committment is required by players. These games are typically short campaigns through old-school systems (D&D Red Box, Boot Hill, Gamma World/Mutant Future, etc.) designed for short bursts of fun.

Interested players are welcome to attend as many or as few sessions as you like.

If you'd like to learn more about what's going on currently, please feel free to shoot me questions to jrients AT gmail DOT com.

Verdant Vale (4E D&D)

GopherDave's picture

Verdant Vale is an ongoing 4th Edition Dungeons & Dragons campaign for 3 - 6 player characters. Sessions will be every other Wednesday from 6:30 to 9:30 pm.

The primary setting is Boswin, a river town in which various humanoid races freely mix. Boswin is a typical "points of light" settlement in a wilderness of dangers. See the Verdant Vale wiki for more information.

I will be using the D&D Essentials books as my primary rules reference, but players may use races/classes from other WOTC D&D products. Ask me first before creating a character from one of the setting-specific books (Eberron, Forgotten Realms, Dark Sun). If you use a non-Essentials book for your character, please bring your own copy for reference. I'll need you to keep track of what your character can do. (I'll be busy worrying about the monsters!)

Characters may be created using either the "points buy" method (pg. 17 of the Player's Handbook) or one of the standard arrays from the Essentials books (pg. 38).

I'm a "props" Dungeon Master who loves miniatures, Paizo maps and dungeon tiles. My emphasis is on devising tricky encounters rather than deep roleplay. While this is by no means intended to be a "joke" campaign, I take a lighthearted approach to settings and storylines.

Black Heart (D&D4E) - (Rob S.)

GopherDave's picture

Brief intro for the campaign:

The small village of Ravenswood has enjoyed a relatively peaceful existence since the end of the Race Wars.  However, when the priest of Moradin dies suddenly, events are set in motion that threaten to tear all of the world of Kitara asunder.

Brief intro about me as a DM:

I try to run a fairly relaxed game.  I certainly don't claim to be an expert on the rules and if I can't find an answer quickly I'll make a ruling that lasts for the rest of the session until I can look it up further.  I am a big fan of character backgrounds as it gives me an idea as to how to tailor the campaign in a fashion that all the players will enjoy.  I like combat, but also feel that while its an important part of the game, its not the only part of the game -- still, though, there will usually be a fight to be found.

Character Gen will be standard point buy as outlined in the PHB.  Feel free to take a background so long as it is not setting specific (Eberron, FR) though if there is a certain benefit you are looking for from one of those backgrounds talk to me, I'm sure we can work something out (keeping in mind you only get one benefit, not all of the options).

Feel free to ask any questions here or to e-mail me at rascales454@gmail.com If you e-mail me, be sure to put "D&D" or "Armored Gopher Game" or some such in the subject line as my work filter often sets aside unknown addresses.

Hope to see you all out there!

Cheers,

Rob

D&D Game Day

GopherDave's picture

D&D Game Day is a one day event spotlighting a key product release in an exclusive adventure. This year, D&D Game Day spotlights the Neverwinter Campaign Setting with an exclusive adventure entitled Gates of Neverdeath. Hired on as caravan guards to protect precious cargo bound for the city of Neverwinter, the characters are introduced to the intrigues and danger that await in this fabled Forgotten Realms locale. For the first time, players will create their own D&D characters at the event and play in a prelude adventure to the upcoming D&D Encounters season!

NOTE: Armored Gopher Games does not currently run D&D Encounters, but we are considering doing so in the future.
