D&D Next : Thundermagedden part 2

Hey all,

Basically I am trying to gather some players for a D&D next game. Unfortunately, my job has me work weekends. I am available to run on Monday and Tuesday.

Enjoy

Looking for a 1st edition AD&D game

I'm looking for a 1st edition AD&D game, ideally as a PC. If there is one running that has an open seat, let me know. If not, is anyone else interested in putting one together?

4e PvP Arena Tournament

d20filmguy's picture

I'm gathering interest in a 4th Edition Dungeons and Dragons PvP Arena Tournament!

Here are the details (subject to change by popular demand):

Level:  4th

Team Size:  2v2 or 3v3

Arena Size:  Between 30 and 40 squares length wise - teams start at the furthest ends

Arena Features:

  • Randomized traps and hazards
  • Both constant and shifting cover
  • Pits and pillars for multi-level combat
  • Skill based activated powers (Arcana to activate magic traps, etc)

Character Details:

  • Created as a starting 4th level character
  • All WotC feats/powers/classes/gear/races available
  • No "optional" rules enabled (such as Themes or Backgrounds)
  • Double HP / Normal Healing (your healing surge value says the same, but your maximum and bloodied HP values double)

Tournament Details:

  • Can be single or double elimination based on how many sign up
  • All fights represent a single game day (affects Daily Powers and Healing Surges per Day as well as Daily Item Powers)
  • Combantants gain free healing between matches (no Healing Surges used)
  • Combantants gain 1 Action Point per match, rather than the normal allocation mechanic
  • All character builds must be submitted and validated before the start of the tournament.  No later changes can be made.

These tournaments are a ton of fun as they let the good elements of 4e really shine (tactical combat) and bring back the original Chainmail type gameplay of PvP with heroic individuals.

GopherDave has said that Sunday evenings are generally available, though I may try and coordinate with him for individual match times scheduled with each set of teams.

If you're interested, please respond to this post!

Lair Assault Season 2 at AGG

jffdougan's picture

For those who might be interested, I'll be running the second season of the D&D Lair Assault program at Armored Gopher on the second Saturday evenings of December and January. (We've got another session scheduled for the second Saturday of February, but I'll need somebody else to run it, as my wife is leaving town the next AM.)

For this season, create an 8th-level character, using any WotC-published materials. You get one magic item each of 7th, 8th, and 9th levels, only one of which can be a rare item. You also get 2600 gp to spend on other mundane or magic items, including up to 2 consumables of your level or lower. If you've bought Fortune Cards, they're legal.

The encounters in the Lair Assault program are intentionally difficult, so bring your A-game!

A note: In catching up on front page stuff, it's just clicked with me that the December event is the same night as the Geiken family fundraiser. For the December 10 event only, I'll let leftover raffle tickets get swapped in at the rate of 2 tickets = +1 to any d20 roll. 5 tickets to maximize the result of any other die (NOT a d20).

Lair Assault?

Anyone interested in DND Lair Assault?

I'm willing to run one (or more)  if there are enough players with a compatible schedule.

DND Encounters, players needed

Adventure Background

Missing for decades, the Crown of Neverwinter, symbol of the former ruling family, has emerged at last. Yet not all are pleased with the crown’s reappearance. Beset by rebels and plaguechanged, Lord Dagult Neverember must hire a group of adventurers to track down the so-called Lost Heir and discover his intentions for the city. The stakes are no less than the lives of the citizens of Neverwinter, for if the heroes fail, Neverwinter seems doomed to descend into civil war.

Come and join us in DND Encounters, Lost Crown of NeverWinter, running Wednesday nights, 6:30-9:00.   We start when we have 6 players, or 7pm, whichever comes first.  New players are more than welcome, Encounters accomodates new and old players alike. Pre-gens are available, or characters made on Game Day, or 1st level Essentials characters built using NeverWinter themes.

D&D Encounters (Lost Crown of Neverwinter Session 14 Conclusion)

ericbohm's picture

We're bringing D&D Encounters to Armored-Gopher!

We'll be concluding the current Lost Crown of  Neverwinter season with session 14.  Pregenerated characters will be available, or you can bring characters made on Game Day, or characters compliant with the D&D Encounters policy of using Essentials and Neverwinter campaign themes.   Characters generated using additional material will require GM approval.

No experience required.

Add a comment to reserve a spot.  We only have space for six.
